Howell E. Begle, Esq.

Howell E. Begle, Jr.is a media and entertainment lawyer who, along with Ruth Brown, was one of the principal founders of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation. For the past twenty years, Mr. Begle has served as General Counsel and a member of the Board of Directors of MediaNews Group, which is currently the U.S.'s largest privately owned newspaper company and whose more than 50 daily newspapers include such publications as the Los Angeles Daily News, the Detroit News and the Denver Post. He is also the long time Secretary of the American Film Institute and for more than twenty years has been counsel for the Academy Awards, the Kennedy Center Honors and the AFI Life Achievement Awards.
